Do I need a Lawyer after a Motorcycle Wreck?

Uncategorized

Yes. I could stop there but let me explain further. You are riding down the street with the sun on your face and the wind in your hair. It’s a beautiful day and you feel a freedom that you know the “cagers” around you can’t even imagine.  And then as you are approaching an intersection, one of those cagers, with his face lit up by the phone that he is clearly looking at, begins to turn left in front of you. Everything slows down and you feel as if the next 2 seconds last about 10 minutes. You do everything you can to avoid the collision but there is just no way to avoid it. Your bike hits the right quarter panel of the car that turned in front of you and you fly off your bike and over the hood of the car and slide, roll and tumble for about 25 more feet until you finally come to a rest in the middle of the road.

The next 6 months are going to be a chaotic and stressful blur of hospitals, doctors and painful procedures. Months of pain, suffering, walking with crutches (maybe), not being able to work, financial difficulty, family struggles, and hurt. Lots and lots of HURT.

During this time you do not need to be adding to the stress of your life by trying to deal with an adjuster at an insurance company whose sole job is to make you take as little money as possible for your injuries. We can handle that for you.

Also, South Carolina laws are very specific on what damages you can claim in a wreck. We know what those are and will work to make sure the insurance company pays them all – whether it is lost wages, depreciation of your repaired vehicle, pain and suffering, medical bills, mental distress, permanent impairment, etc. Not to mention the possibility of punitive damages. If the person that hit you was drunk or high, we will obtain the dashcam recordings of the field sobriety test and use those to get try to get punitive damages from the insurance adjuster as well.

Keep in mind that the insurance adjuster is not your friend. They will not tell you what you are entitled to. They want you to take as little money as possible and then sign a release so that they can put your file in storage and move on to the next claim. You are smarter than that. Call us. We have over 2 decades of experience representing injured riders and we would honor the opportunity to put that experience to work for you.
